“Adhiparasakthi Dental College and Hospital (APDCH)” is, and I quote, “one of the leading dentists in Tamil Nadu’s education landscape. Set up in 2005, this esteemed institution is a constituent of the Adhiparasakthi Charitable, Medical, Educational and Cultural Trust, set up by Arulthiru Padmashri Bangaru Adigalar in 1978. About a hundred kilometer to the south of Chennai lies a town called Melmaruvathur where APDCH is located. It could, within a short span of time, be considered as a center of excellence when it came to the study of dentistry and more importantly, the management of patients with relative ease.””.

Completing the required undergraduate study and seeking higher education especially in dentistry is made possible through the establishment of the college in 2010 and this was possible due to the bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) program which was initiated with an intake of 100 students. Furthermore, APDCH aims to enhance its academic standing by applying the inter-related disciplines of dental practice such as Endocrinology, Prosthodontics, Periodontics etc. Since 2015, APDCH further developed their course structure in line with the post-graduate diploma in the aforementioned and many more fields and this program is currently a work in progress. In 2021, yet again, the college enhanced the postgraduate diploma by adding another one in Pedodontics which serves to increase the scope of practice.”

The APDCH is accredited with NAAC since 2015 with ‘A’ gr4de and a needless to say a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.10 on a 4 point scale. It has also been accredited with ISO 9001:2015 and is one among the very few dental institutions in India to obtain NABH accreditation. These awards are a testament to the strong commitment of the institution in achieving high levels of quality in the processes of dental education and patient services.

Since it’s beginnings, APDCH has progressively worked to achieve its Vision of establishing professional dentists while providing affordable dental care to the underserved communities.
