Kurnool Medical College is one of the three medical colleges established in Andhra Pradesh in 1956. Sri T.T. Krishnamachari, the then Indian Finance Minister, laid its foundation on July 21, 1956.

At first, the college taken in 50 students in its MBBS course, and over the years, it has made substantial enhancements in the completion and facilities also.
