Government Siddhartha Medical College also known as Siddhartha Medical College was established in the month of November in 1980, has been associated with Siddarth Medical Academy, General and Technical Education in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was run successfully at a very large scale owing to the wide industry of medical practitioners, the college initially had capacity of just 100 students.

Affiliation and Administration

Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences has direct affiliation to the Educational institution which is coordinated by the Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh. For a long period, the institution has undergone a series of administrative changes, but it still maintains the same teaching high standards.

Campus and Facilities

The college campus is situated on a 57 acres site located in Gunadala, Vijayawada and a building complex consisting of extensive floor area. This campus is built up to modern requirements such as furnished laboratories, a growing library, and other modern facilities for the students’ peaceful minds.

Teaching Hospitals

In order to get the requisite exposures, students at Siddhartha Medical College also attend the various teaching hospitals that have departments. The main teaching hospital is Government General Hospital (GGH) which is located in the city of Vijayawada and is a public hospital that practices in various other specialized fields such as obstetrics and gynecology. Other associated hospitals include other centres included Mangalagiri General Hospital and Mangalagiri TB Sanitarium.

Education and Training

Siddhartha Medical College provides education in the medical field at both undergraduate (MBBS) as well as postgraduate (MD/MS) levels. During training, students follow clearly defined curriculum and are taught by knowledgeable and experienced practitioners of the field. The college aims at practical training, further reinforced by cadaver supply for anatomical dissections and practical classes.
