Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, often referred to as WMed, is a relatively young medical school located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Founded in 2012, it represents a unique collaboration between Western Michigan University and two of Kalamazoo's teaching hospitals: Borgess Health and Bronson Healthcare. The school is named after Homer Stryker, a renowned orthopedic surgeon and medical device inventor who founded the Stryker Corporation.
